We started the school year at the end of August and let me tell you it is a bit challenging with four kiddos (two who are two and under and quite mobile), but it has been fun.
Our first day went quite well even though I took up some time taking first day pictures but they were well worth it. The kids enjoy being back in a routine. I always know it is a good first day of school, because Little Knight will evaluate the day and when we were done he said, "It was a good first day!" I love to hear that. Their daddy brought home ice-cream to celebrate their first day and they enjoyed that very much. The rest of the week proved to be a bit more challenging, but that is a post for a different day. :-)
We jumped right into our CC week 1 and because of the Labor Day Holiday we had two weeks to work on it. Here is some of what we did during our two weeks.
|Little Princess did this one.|
|Little Knight's history art work.|
We also worked on our Geography using our maps from the CC website and flashcards from Melody over at And Here We Go.
We also worked on a couple of skip counting charts, reviewed science by writing and drawing, and colored a continents sheet for more Geography.
Our read aloud included a chapter from
and readings from
The Story of the World: History for the Classical Child: The Middle Ages: From the Fall of Rome to the Rise of the Renaissance (Second Revised Edition) (Vol. 2) (Story of the World)
We also work on several other subjects and I will share about those later in a different post. Hope you are enjoying the start to your school year.
How has your start to the new school year gone?
